  • Submitted by: Lewis Macdonald, North East Scotland, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 09 November 2020
  • Motion reference: S5M-23295

That the Parliament congratulates Aberdeen City Council on being shortlisted for a prestigious Project Management Institute (PMI) UK National Project Award for its response to the COVID-19 pandemic; understands that it is the only Scottish organisation nominated for the special COVID19 award, and that it will be up against projects such as the HMRC Job Retention Scheme and Oxford University’s vaccine research project; recognises that it was nominated for its COVID-19 remote, secure collaboration programme, which has seen the council use its partnership with Microsoft Consulting Services to enable employees to work from home and maintain vital services despite the impact of the pandemic; acknowledges that the judges who decided on the shortlist of 10 nominees for the award found that the project had a significant and positive impact on the Council and its citizens at this challenging time; notes that the winner will be decided by public vote and announced in March 2021; commends all involved in this important project to ensure that Aberdeen residents have been able to access the help and support they need from Council staff throughout the pandemic, and thanks all at Aberdeen City Council for their continued dedication and hard work.
