The Return of Aberdeen’s NuArt Festival

  • Submitted by: Kevin Stewart, Aberdeen Central, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 12 April 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-12818

That the Parliament welcomes the return of the world-acclaimed NuArt Aberdeen street art festival from 6 to 9 June 2024; understands that the event, which is staged by Aberdeen Inspired, will see some of the most acclaimed and upcoming street artists from around the globe come to Aberdeen to transform city walls into works of art, from large-scale murals to smaller and more intimate pieces; recognises that, in previous years, the festival has seen thousands of visitors flock to Aberdeen city centre to enjoy the new artworks; notes the return of NuArt street tours every Sunday in the build-up to the festival, to give people an insight into previous artworks and the artists who created them, and looks forward to the announcement of the 2024 theme and the list of walls to be transformed in due course.
