S5W-22073: Kezia Dugdale (Lothian)

Scottish Labour

Date lodged: 12 March 2019

To ask the Scottish Government how many GP practices provide intrauterine device (IUD) fittings in-house.

Answered by: Joe FitzPatrick 26 March 2019

NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) does not hold this information as they are unable to determine whether or not GP practices fit Intrauterine Devices (IUDs) in-house or if this is conducted elsewhere. The Prescription Cost Analysis publication https://www.isdscotland.org/Health-Topics/Prescribing-and-Medicines/Publications/data-tables2017.asp – tab 4 will show the number of IUDs prescribed in Scotland in 2017-18.
