To ask the Scottish Government what democratic oversight there is of Scotland Counter Terrorism Intelligence Unit.
Answered by: Humza Yousaf 2 October 2018
Upon the establishment of the Police Service of Scotland under the Police and Fire Reform (Scotland) Act 2012, the Counter Terrorism Intelligence Unit (Scotland) became part of the Organised Crime and Counter Terrorism Unit. The Scottish Police Authority hold the Chief Constable to account for policing of Scotland. In common with any individual with responsibility for devolved functions, the Chair of the Scottish Police Authority may be called to account by the Scottish Parliament.
