S5W-16661: Miles Briggs (Lothian)

Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party

Date lodged: 15 May 2018

To ask the Scottish Government how many breastfeeding clinics it has supported in each year since 1999.

Answered by: Aileen Campbell 31 May 2018

Although the information requested is not held centrally, the Scottish Government’s Maternal and Infant Nutrition Framework (2011) outlines the measures that should be taken by all organisations working with families to ensure that every parent is supported to give their baby the very best nutritional start in life. We have invested more than £15.8m directly to NHS Boards for implementation of the Maternal and Infant Nutrition Framework, of which breastfeeding support is a key component.
