S5W-14508: Maurice Corry (West Scotland)

Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party

Date lodged: 8 February 2018

To ask the Scottish Government what it is doing to encourage businesses to use compostable packaging.

Answered by: Roseanna Cunningham 22 February 2018

Scottish Government policy is to help reduce the use of single-use items overall, regardless of material, and to encourage greater use of reusable items and packaging that is easy to recycle. We will continue to work with retail and industry to improve the sustainability of the products and packaging on sale in Scotland.
