S5O-02338: Lewis Macdonald (North East Scotland)

Scottish Labour

Date lodged: 5 September 2018

To ask the Scottish Government how it expects its new Biodiversity Challenge Fund to support the protection of curlews.

Answered by: Roseanna Cunningham 12 September 2018

The Biodiversity Challenge Fund will focus on species and habitats that need action on the ground to ensure the Scottish Government meets its national and international conservation targets. Work for waders, including curlew, is a high priority, and the fund will devote more resources to this work beyond what Scottish Natural Heritage is already committed to spend.
