S5O-02287: Adam Tomkins (Glasgow)

Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party

Date lodged: 20 June 2018

To ask the Scottish Government, further to its response to the Local Government and Communities Committee’s stage 1 report on the Planning (Scotland) Bill, what its position is on whether there is a case for extending the Agent of Change principle and for placing it on a statutory footing.

Answered by: Kevin Stewart 27 June 2018

I do agree with the Committee that the principle should extend to all existing sources of noise. I note that Mr Tomkins has lodged an amendment to the Planning Bill on Agent of Change, as has Lewis Macdonald. We will look at these and other options and continue to consider what is the best way of addressing the issues.
