S5W-12877: Maurice Corry (West Scotland)

Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party

Date lodged: 21 November 2017

To ask the Scottish Government to what extent Scottish Mountain Rescue is included in its resilience and civil contingencies planning.

Answered by: Annabelle Ewing 30 November 2017

Scottish Mountain Rescue plays an active role in resilience arrangements, in Scotland, from the national, down to a local, level. SMR involvement includes standing representation, by the Vice Chair, on the national Voluntary Sector Resilience Partnership group, and recent attendance at the Scottish Resilient Communities Conference on 27 October 2017. SMR representatives attend relevant 'functional' sub-groups of the 3 Regional Resilience Partnerships in the North, East and West of Scotland, regularly participate in Local Resilience Partnership meetings and take part in civil emergency training and exercising across the country, as necessary.
