S5W-11027: Richard Lochhead (Moray)

Scottish National Party

Date lodged: 31 August 2017

To ask the Scottish Government what its position is on establishing a one-stop-shop or user-friendly gateway that offers advice, assistance and details of the options available to (a) communities and (b) households that are seeking connection to superfast broadband.

Answered by: Fergus Ewing 21 September 2017

The Digital Scotland Superfast Broadband programme has a dedicated website (www.scotlandsuperfast.com) that provides advice and up-to-date information on the current roll-out of superfast broadband across Scotland.

The website covers all the options available to communities and households across Scotland including on the current connection of each premise, the next steps available once connected and further information on the Better Broadband Scheme for those premises that are not currently receiving speeds of over 2 Mbps. Community Broadband Scotland also has a dedicated website (www.hie.co.uk/community-support/community-broadband-scotland) that has information on the guidance and assistance it can provide community-led broadband projects.
