S5W-10218: Mary Fee (West Scotland)

Scottish Labour

Date lodged: 7 July 2017

To ask the Scottish Government when the new national co-ordinator for child bereavement services will be appointed.

Answered by: Shona Robison 2 August 2017

Ensuring that children across Scotland receive the best possible support and access to service is of great importance and the Scottish Government has begun the process to appoint a national co-ordinator for child bereavement services. In doing so we have written to the child health commissioners group seeking their professional advice and guidance on which organisations would be best placed to either co-ordinate, or take on a Child Bereavement Co-ordinator. Once we receive their feedback we will look to appoint a national co-ordinator as soon as possible.
