To ask the Scottish Government what plans it has for public consultations on (a) animal breeding and (b) the sale of pets.

The possible changes to legislation regarding animal breeding and sale of pets are being considered as part of an ongoing review of pet welfare. The Scottish Government has already held a number of meetings with stakeholders around that ongoing review; and will be looking at the need for legislative change. The Scottish Ministers will bring forward plans for appropriate full public consultation in due course.
