Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party

Date lodged: 9 March 2017

To ask the Scottish Government whether it has any plans to undertake a national survey on the prevalence of adverse childhood experiences.

Answered by: John Swinney 17 March 2017

The Scottish Government, in conjunction with the Scottish ACE Hub, is currently considering options for obtaining data on the prevalence of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). In order to make the best use of public funds, the current focus is on reviewing options to use existing national surveys to obtain this information. The Scottish Government will await the outcome of this review before considering the next steps.
