To ask the Scottish Government whether it considers the Edinburgh Agreement to be a model for an independence referendum.
Answered by: Michael Russell 29 March 2017
The 2014 referendum was widely recognised as meeting the highest standards of fairness and transparency.
This Parliament voted yesterday to mandate the Scottish Government to take forward discussions with the UK Government on the details of an order under section 30 of the Scotland Act 1998 to ensure that the Scottish Parliament can legislate for a referendum to be held. As the First Minister has made clear, the Scottish Government will begin that process later this week.
