To ask the Scottish Government how much it has spent on improvements to each trunk road in the West Scotland parliamentary region in each year since 2007.

The Scottish Government has spend £682 million on trunk road improvements in the West Scotland parliamentary region since 2007. This comprises £628 million on the M74 completion in June 2011, £16 million on the Symington and Bog End Toll Improvement project completed in May 2014 and £38 million on Minor Improvement and Strategic Road Safety broken down over the following roads in each year.

The figures provided are for the whole length of the route mentioned because it is not possible to separate the expenditure for the discrete parts of the route(s) falling within the region.

In addition, the Scottish Government has spent a further £260 million in the maintenance and operation of these routes over the same nine year period.
