S5W-04648: Miles Briggs (Lothian)

Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party

Date lodged: 10 November 2016

To ask the Scottish Government how representatives of service users on integration joint boards and joint monitoring committees are able to represent the range of user experiences.

Answered by: Shona Robison 23 November 2016

The Scottish Government has issued guidance on the appointment of stakeholder members, including service users, on Integration Joint Boards (IJBs) which is applicable to Integration Joint Monitoring Committees (IJMC). This guidance states that stakeholder members must be able to demonstrate the appropriate experience and skills to reflect the breadth and diversity of views and situations of the individuals or groups that they represent. The ways in which stakeholder members are identified and appointed to these positions will vary due to the local circumstances of each IJB and IJMC.
