S5W-01652: Miles Briggs (Lothian)

Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party

Date lodged: 27 July 2016

To ask the Scottish Government how many cancer patients have been offered cryopreservation of (a) eggs, (b) sperm and (c) embryos in each year since 1999, and whether it plans to extend this.

Answered by: Aileen Campbell 24 August 2016

Information on how many cancer patients have been offered cryopreservation of (a) eggs, (b) sperm and (c) embryos in each year since 1999 is not held centrally. An expert Gametes Group will shortly begin work to look at protocols for patients who require fertility preservation.
