Question

To ask the Scottish Government, further to the comment by the Cabinet Secretary for the Constitution, Europe and External Affairs on 23 December 2020 regarding the £100 million fund for vulnerable communities (Official Report, c. 94) that he "would be happy to get Aileen Campbell, the Cabinet Secretary for Communities and Local Government, to write to the member" regarding the fund, whether it will publish further details regarding the fund, including when communities will be able to apply to it.


Answer

The First Minister announced the Scottish Government's Winter Plan for Social Protection on 30 November 2020, comprising a £100 million package of measures to support people and communities over the winter period.

A breakdown of investment was outlined by the Cabinet Secretary for Communities and Local Government on 30 November 2020 in response to Parliamentary question S5W-33627. Winter support fund for families and children - gov.scot (www.gov.scot)

This additional funding has now been made available to local authorities and key third sector partners to deliver the enhanced support outlined within the package. Third Sector and Community organisations can find out more and apply for funding at Community & Third Sector Recovery Programme – SCVO.
