Question

To ask the Scottish Government whether it will provide an update on what progress it has made on securing a buyer for Glasgow Prestwick International Airport, and when it expects to be in a position to complete a sale.

Answer

I advised Parliament on 5 November 2020 that Prestwick Airport would be placing a notice in the Official Journal of the European Union inviting expressions of interest in Prestwick Airport. I refer the member to the answer to question S5W-33019 on 5 November 2020. All answers to written parliamentary questions are available on the Parliament's website, the search facility for which can be found at http://www.parliament.scot/parliamentarybusiness/28877.aspx .

To protect the integrity of the process I am limited in the information I can provide due to the requirement to maintain confidentiality. I am, however, satisfied that good progress is being made in the interests of the business, and will update parliament on the sale process at the appropriate time.
