Question

To ask the Scottish Government what pans it has to eradicate asbestos from all (a) public and (b) private buildings.

Answer

The management of asbestos in buildings is a reserved matter for the UK Government and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has UK wide responsibility for enforcement of the legislation and regulations.

The Scottish Government has written to the HSE and UK Government to ask what plans there are for the eradication of the substance from buildings in Scotland.
