Question

To ask the Scottish Government whether home care workers will receive the COVID-19 vaccine at the same time as care home workers.

Answer

The Joint committee on Vaccinations and Immunisations (JCVI) initial advice is focussed on preventing severe illness and loss of life, first and foremost and this is why it focusses on older people and health and social care workers.

Home Care workers are considered Patient facing, Frontline health care staff, and are therefore prioritised for a COVID-19 vaccination.
