  • Submitted by: Brian Whittle, South Scotland, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 11 February 2021
  • Motion reference: S5M-24110

That the Parliament notes with sadness the sudden passing of the police horse, Orkney, who has died while on duty in Kilmarnock; understands that Orkney joined Police Scotland in January 2020 as a member of the highly-trained mounted branch; recognises the valuable contribution that horses, dogs and other highly-trained animals make to policing in Scotland; thanks Orkney for her dedication and service, and sends its condolences to her colleagues at Police Scotland.
