Laura Alcock-Ferguson Appointed an MBE

That the Parliament congratulates Laura Alcock-Ferguson, who is from the Scottish Borders, on being appointed an MBE in the New Year’s Honours for her work in alleviating loneliness in older people; recognises that Laura is the founding director of the Campaign to End Loneliness, which has helped to inspire people to connect with one another and bring communities together across the UK; notes that her effort and dedication have led to better connections and helped lessen the negative consequences of loneliness for thousands of people, and thanks Laura for her hard work and deep commitment to the older population, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, where loneliness has become an acute issue for many.
