Charandeep Singh Receives Inaugural Pride of Scotland Award 2020

That the Parliament congratulates Charandeep Singh on receiving the inaugural Pride of Scotland Award; understands that he will receive a Special Recognition Award for his work with The Sikh Food Bank; notes that the food bank delivered over 100,000 meals to families in need through the COVID-19 pandemic; further notes that he established the food bank at the start of lockdown to provide support for shielding and vulnerable households and that it was supported by a 50-strong team of Sikh volunteers; appreciates the national approach to these good works, with Charandeep overseeing the delivery of meals and food parcels to families across Glasgow, as well as in Edinburgh, Dundee and Aberdeen; wishes him every continued success with his professional and charitable endeavours, and considers him a credit to both Glasgow and Scotland.
