Big Noise Torry

  • Submitted by: Maureen Watt, Aberdeen South and North Kincardine, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 16 December 2020
  • Motion reference: S5M-23723

That the Parliament welcomes the positive impact of the Big Noise project on children and young people in the Torry area of Aberdeen; understands that it teaches more than 600 children from birth to P7 at Tullos and Walker Road schools and that, since April 2020, it has delivered more than 1,700 online music lessons; notes with regret that this year’s annual Christmas concert is cancelled due to COVID-19; acknowledges however that Big Noise will produce a Christmas-themed DVD for care homes in the area, which will include performances from the children and project musicians; recognises that Big Noise Torry celebrated its fifth anniversary in July, and congratulates the children and its organisers, project funders and partners, and wishes all involved with it continued success.
