  • Date lodged: Thursday, 10 December 2020
  • Motion reference: S5M-23670

That the Parliament recognises the success of the folk-pop duo, Braw, which is made up of the brothers, Iain and Andrew Mundy, who are originally from just outside Pathhead in Midlothian; understands that Iain and Andrew started their musical journey in 2005 with the MacTaggart Scott, Loanhead Band’s Brass Roots organisation, and that they have been performing as a duo since 2019, have released four singles and are set to release a debut album in 2021; praises the recent accomplishments of their single, Whisky in Hand, which notably peaked at 65 in the Official Scottish Singles Chart and received substantial radio airplay, including on BBC Radio Scotland's The Afternoon Show; understands that the brothers  are set to release a festive single, A Glimpse of Christmas, which they hope will bring some cheer this Christmas season, following a year of tough COVID-19 restrictions, and help everyone to cherish the precious moments spent with loved ones; encourages people to find out more about Braw’s music at facebook.com/brawofficial and note the duo's music is also available on Spotify and iTunes; congratulates Iain and Andrew Mundy on their hard work and contribution to the Scottish music scene, and wishes them all the best.
