C Fine’s Electric Cargo Bike

  • Submitted by: Maureen Watt, Aberdeen South and North Kincardine, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 08 December 2020
  • Motion reference: S5M-23637

That the Parliament notes the recent acquisition of an electric cargo bike, an Ebike, by the Aberdeen-based charity and food bank, C Fine; understands that the Ebike was purchased due to a generous £13,000 donation from Aberdeen Harbour Board, which has enabled C Fine volunteers to deliver 1,250 additional emergency food parcels to vulnerable individuals and families across the city, including in Torry, Cove and Kincorth; notes that, since the beginning of the pandemic, C Fine has recorded a tripling of demand for emergency food and, since March, has delivered over 52,000 emergency parcels to those in need; commends the generosity of Aberdeen Harbour Board and the hard work of C Fine’s staff and volunteers, and wishes both organisations every success in the future.
