MYPAS Receives £63,000 of Funding

  • Submitted by: Colin Beattie, Midlothian North and Musselburgh, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 03 December 2020
  • Motion reference: S5M-23585

That the Parliament congratulates MYPAS on receiving an award of £63,000 to provide a new family counselling service and an increased art therapy service to Midlothian’s young people and their families; notes that this funding has been awarded through Midlothian Council, and was part of a bid by the Midlothian Children and Young People’s Wellbeing Consortium; understands that the family counselling service was paused in 2019 due to funding constraints, and those at MYPAS are pleased to be able to reinstate this service again in early 2021; recognises that mental health services, such as those provided at MYPAS, are crucial to young people, and that this support is invaluable to the community; acknowledges that this service will be hugely beneficial to those across Midlothian, and wishes the team at MYPAS all the best going forward.
