Aberdeen School Pupil Pays Tribute to NHS with Bus Design

  • Submitted by: Lewis Macdonald, North East Scotland, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 02 December 2020
  • Motion reference: S5M-23576

That the Parliament congratulates Adam Foster, who is in P5 at Skene Square School in Aberdeen, on winning a nationwide artwork competition run by First Bus, aimed at recognising NHS heroes; commends Adam for his design, which features a rainbow in tribute to NHS staff who have been working tirelessly throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and has received the blessing of NHS Scotland; welcomes that First Group will be wrapping the design on to three buses that will be in use on the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary route, as well as more broadly across the company’s network; understands that Adam will receive a poster of his design and a tour of Britain’s biggest bus depot once restrictions ease, in recognition of his achievement, and thanks First Bus for developing education and resource packs at the start of the country’s initial lockdown, which have since supported teachers across Scotland.
