That the Parliament congratulates NHS Lothian and the charity, Muirfield Riding Therapy (MRT), on the 10th anniversary of their partnership delivering the Children’s Therapeutic Riding Service; understands that the service was the first and is still the largest service of its kind in Scotland, providing life-changing therapeutic riding, free of charge, to children and young people with various disabilities in East and Mid Lothian; understands that the Service provides hippotherapy, a specialist and highly effective form of physiotherapy, on horseback, which uses the movement, warmth and rhythm of the horse as a therapy tool, delivering positive therapeutic results as well as great fun for the children using the service, and thanks all the staff and volunteers involved in delivering the partnership for their dedicated work running this important and much-loved service.
