End the Blockade of Gaza

That the Parliament notes the analysis in the UN report, Economic costs of the Israeli occupation for the Palestinian people: the Gaza Strip under closure and restrictions, which shows that the economic cost of Israel’s blockade of Gaza has reached $16.7 billion (US); understands that the same report also shows more than half of Gaza’s two-million residents are living below the poverty line and that most have no access to safe water, electricity or a proper sewage system; recognises that the report estimates that, without the blockade, the poverty rate would be significantly lower, and supports the report’s call for an urgent end to the blockade.
