  • Motion reference: S5M-23505

That the Parliament notes the efforts of the Benarty and Lochgelly communities in spending the weekend of 21-22 November 2020 collecting food and raising money for Benarty Foodbank, Lo'gelly Lunches and The Pantry at Crosshill; praises in particular the work of James Fotheringham, the local businessmen, Davie Farrell, Stevie Clark, Peter McGuire and Chuck Buchanan, who supplied vehicles to transport the food, and Andrew Haddow, who drove one of the vehicles, as well as BRAG Enterprises, which provided space to sort the goods, and staff to assist; notes that, in total over the weekend, the teams of volunteers managed to collect an astounding 3,183kg of food, and £2,269.89; believes that this is testament to the strength of community spirit, and thanks everyone involved for their efforts.
