That the Parliament congratulates Aberdeen City Council on winning the Nature of Scotland award for Nature and Climate Action for its Working Wetlands project; notes that the judges recognised that the council's projects in Seaton Park and elsewhere have led the way in managing surface water in innovative ways, working with nature to support climate change actions and enhance biodiversity, and that these projects have also created features that are enjoyed by communities; understands that Dr Mark Young, who is an emeritus senior lecturer at the University of Aberdeen, having taught at the institution for more than 30 years, received the Nature of Scotland Lifetime Achievement Award for his lifelong contribution to the study and conservation of moths; recognises the achievements of all the winners at the Nature of Scotland awards, which are sponsored by Nature Scot and RSPB Scotland, and acknowledges the importance of conservation projects in protecting Scotland’s biodiversity.
