That the Parliament congratulates pupils at Mearns Primary School on inspiring a new and exciting recipe book in Eastwood; notes that the school's Parent Teacher Association (PTA) has put together a book on the favourite home cookery recipes that pupils learned during lockdown; understands that when young people were unable to attend school in the early part of the COVID-19 pandemic, many pupils at Mearns Primary spent time working on home cooking and baking recipes, and this has provided the inspiration for the book; acknowledges that, with the pandemic preventing usual fundraising activities from taking place, the PTA was looking for new and innovative ways to raise money for the school to support pupils and came up with the excellent idea of a book featuring the children's favourite recipes; recognises that the book is centred upon lockdown in 2020 and showcases recipes that have a narrative, such as food that children learned to make when school was closed, using Zoom video conferencing technology with family members whom pupils were unable to visit in person, as well as treats that the young people simply enjoy to eat; notes that the book is now available to purchase online and copies will also be available instore from 12 December at Marianna's Deli and The Market Place at the Avenue Shopping Centre in Newton Mearns, and commends the efforts of pupils to develop their cooking and bakery skills at home during lockdown and the PTA for developing the book.
