Resonate Together and Alloa Community Council

  • Submitted by: Alexander Stewart, Mid Scotland and Fife, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 18 November 2020
  • Motion reference: S5M-23415

That the Parliament commends the Alloa-based group, Resonate Together, and Alloa Community Council on their sterling work for Remembrance; notes that the group provided poppy-making kits free of charge to the Community Council at the town's Friday market in November 2020; understands that these proved extremely useful to people looking to mark Remembrance Sunday by decorating their home; acknowledges that, in addition to distributing the poppy packs, the Community Council developed an online resource in the form of a directory of the names and addresses of the fallen from Alloa; acknowledges that it published the names on a spreadsheet that was shared with schools and other groups with the aim of preserving the memory of those who died for their country, and sends its thanks to Angela Watt of Resonate Together and the group's volunteers for making and distributing the poppy kits during this unusual year and to the Community Council chair, Reverend Jason Lingiah, for his and his colleagues' highly proactive work to preserve the memory of the service personnel from Clackmannanshire who paid the ultimate price in theatres of conflict across the world.
