Archie’s Newsagents of Kirkintilloch

That the Parliament congratulates Archie’s newsagents of Kirkintilloch on its recent award as one of East Dunbartonshire’s High Street Heroes; understands that the award is part of the Scotland Loves Local campaign, which has been organised by Scotland’s Towns Partnership with the support of the Scottish Government; recognises the award's purpose in highlighting the grassroots response to the pandemic; encourages people to shop local first for all their needs; praises Archie’s newsagents for its continued community focus and spirit; understands that Lisa Giffen and others at the newsagents provided free delivery, free lunches for schoolchildren, meals for vulnerable and older residents and ran competitions for local kids to keep them active during the pandemic; wishes the organisation all the best for the future, and expresses its gratitude for this community service.
