That the Parliament praises the dedication of the team at EDVA (East Dunbartonshire Voluntary Action) during these unprecedented times; notes an award of £9,000 from the National Lottery Community Fund to explore the viability of a proposed new service, No One Dies Alone (NODA), to link compassionate companions with people in their last few days of life when the individual has no other friends or family who can attend; praises the team's rapid and well-organised enabling of new community COVID-19-response teams throughout the area; understands that high numbers of volunteers were signposted and mobilised to support a wide range of community-based projects; pays tribute to the consistent support of charities and social enterprises, particularly through these financially and emotionally-challenging times, and wishes the team well as it continues to serve the constituency of Strathkelvin and Bearsden.
