That the Parliament congratulates Maria McGill, who is the former CEO of CHAS, on being appointed a CBE in The Queen’s Birthday Honours List for services to palliative and end-of-life care, and children; notes that Maria has dedicated almost all of her career to this field, first as a frontline nurse, working in hospitals and the community before moving into hospice care; recognises the significant work that Maria did during her 10 years at CHAS to transform the charity’s support for dying children in hospices, children's homes, and hospitals; understands that, under her leadership, CHAS dramatically increased voluntary income and the number of children supported every year, and warmly thanks Maria for her services and her commendable achievements for children and families across Scotland.
