WHALE Arts Shortlisted for a Creative Edinburgh Award

That the Parliament congratulates WHALE Arts on being shortlisted for a Creative Edinburgh award in the Social Award category; notes that it is a community-led social enterprise arts charity and is the leading cultural anchor organisation for Wester Hailes, Edinburgh; understands that these awards aim to highlight great ideas, inspired thinking and outstanding creativity, and that the Social Award category looks to recognise the projects and people that use creativity to pioneer ideas, create change and support and engage communities; appreciates that this is the second time that WHALE Arts has been shortlisted in this category, with its Street Arts project winning in 2016; understands that the winners will be announced on 12 November 2020, and commends the staff and volunteers for their continued contribution to the community of Wester Hailes.
