Celebrating National Lottery Community Funding

  • Submitted by: Maureen Watt, Aberdeen South and North Kincardine, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 19 October 2020
  • Motion reference: S5M-23071

That the Parliament congratulates Brimmond Court Tenants Association and Somebody Cares UK SCIO on receiving awards from the National Lottery Community Fund; notes that Somebody Cares UK SCIO, which delivers food to vulnerable people and families in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, received funding to meet a greatly increased demand for this service, and that Brimmond Court Tenants Association, which is a retirement complex for the over-60s, received funding to help mark the 50th anniversary of its building by way of a Golden Jubilee celebration event for the local community in its grounds, and believes that both awards will help the organisations support the health and wellbeing of local communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
