  • Submitted by: Maureen Watt, Aberdeen South and North Kincardine, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 08 October 2020
  • Motion reference: S5M-23008

That the Parliament congratulates Calum Brown of Peterculter, Aberdeen, who won all five Open 18 and Older piping events in the annual Shotts & Dykehead Caledonia Solo Competitions, which were held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic; notes that the competitions included pipers from around the world for myriad events over numerous grades in each category of piping and drumming; further notes that, at the age of 10, Calum was named Young Burnsian of the Year before going on to achieve further acclaim and study Traditional Music at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and wishes him continued success in the future.
