Sir Salter Scott?

  • Submitted by: Christine Grahame, Midlothian South, Tweeddale and Lauderdale, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 05 October 2020
  • Motion reference: S5M-22952

That the Parliament notes, with COVID-19 still all around and winter on the horizon, BEAR Scotland’s launch of a cheery competition for local primary and ASN schools to name one of its 21 new gritters in its south east Scotland fleet; understands that pupils are also invited to suggest an eye catching logo to help drivers remember their winter-ready car essentials; notes that BEAR has a history of unconventional gritter names as suggested by the public, which so far includes 32 tonne gritters with names such as Sir Salter Scott, Sir Andy Flurry, Sprinkles, Gritallica and Gritty Gritty Bang Bang, and looks forward to seeing what new suggestions pupils can devise.
