That the Parliament welcomes the news that a short film created by SCOREscotland, Celebrating 50 Years of Diversity in Wester Hailes, made it to week two of @FringeofColour's online arts festival, "Fringe of Colour Films"; notes that over 40 films, made by black and brown people/people of colour, were released throughout August 2020 via an independent streaming service as weekly collections, each available for seven days; recognises that Fringe of Colour is a multi-award-winning initiative dedicated to supporting black and brown people/people of colour at the Edinburgh festivals; appreciates that the SCOREscotland film celebrates colourful diversity in Wester Hailes by uncovering stories about ethnic minorities in the community that date back as far as the 1980s, highlighting the importance of race equality work in the face of racism/hate crime, and celebrating the love, lives, contributions and history of black and brown people/people of colour in Wester Hailes past and present; understands that the film was created by Aboodi Taha and was filmed at an event supported by the Wester Hailes Community Trust as part of the 50 years of Wester Hailes celebrations, and commends all involved for celebrating and highlighting the importance of diversity in Wester Hailes and the wider community.
