The People’s Recovery: a Different Track for Scotland’s Economy

  • Submitted by: Neil Findlay, Lothian, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 30 September 2020
  • Motion reference: S5M-22890

That the Parliament welcomes the publication of the report, The People’s Recovery: a Different Track for Scotland’s Economy, by the STUC; understands that the document includes a wide ranging policy agenda setting out how the economy can recover from the COVID-19 crisis, ending decades of dominance by the rich and powerful over working people, creating a new sense of collective purpose based on industrial democracy and work for all, a green recovery, democratic ownership, equality, social security and housing, universal public services and a recovery driven by education, and urges the Scottish and UK governments to adopt this as a programme for a sustainable future of full employment within a just and democratic society.
