MS Society Report, Too Much To Lose

  • Submitted by: Beatrice Wishart, Shetland Islands, Scottish Liberal Democrats.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 29 September 2020
  • Motion reference: S5M-22883

That the Parliament recognises MS Society’s report, Too Much To Lose, which found that 34% of people in the UK felt their multiple sclerosis (MS) symptoms had got worse during lockdown and that 69% were unable to speak to a rehabilitation professional during that time; notes MS Society’s campaign to protect and improve rehabilitation services, which it understands are important to maintain mobility and manage the symptoms of MS; understands there is a high prevalence of MS in Scotland, especially in the Northern Isles of Orkney and Shetland, and acknowledges what it sees as the importance of maintaining services for people with long-term neurological conditions while responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.
