Dumfries and Galloway's Ann Hill's Charity Efforts

  • Submitted by: Emma Harper, South Scotland, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 22 September 2020
  • Motion reference: S5M-22788

That the Parliament congratulates Ann Hill, who is from Dumfries and Galloway, on her selfless commitment to charitable causes, particularly during the COVI-D19 pandemic; notes that Ann, who is the Quilter in Residence of Alzheimer’s Scotland, has been busy during this time making  face coverings for general use and fabric clips for NHS and frontline workers to help make the wearing of surgical facemasks more comfortable; acknowledges that Ann recently made a quilt with the theme of COVID-19 to raise funds to support the vital work of the charity; understands that it has various knitted themes of the pandemic, from face coverings and NHS staff, to a rainbow, school closure sign and an acknowledgement of the friends and families who have worked so hard and followed the restrictions to limit the spread of the virus; notes that it is being shown across Dumfries and Galloway and will later be sold for fundraising; thanks Ann and Alzheimer’s Scotland for their invaluable work, and wishes them continued success.
