MYPAS Awarded Funds from BBC Children in Need

That the Parliament congratulates MYPAS (Midlothian Young People’s Advice Service) on being awarded a grant of £67,851 by BBC Children in Need’s Next Steps fund; understands that this will be used to fund a full-time counsellor over the next 18 months; acknowledges that the postholder will engage with young people aged 12 to 18 across Midlothian and East Lothian who have been adversely mentally affected by situations brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, and in particular LGBT+ young people; recognises the vital work that MYPAS undertakes across Midlothian and East Lothian and the positive impact that the organisation makes in supporting young people, and wishes everyone at the organisation all the best going forward with their work.
