-Aidan Dodds, 10, Donates Savings to Save the Children

  • Submitted by: Jeremy Balfour, Lothian, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 24 July 2020
  • Motion reference: S5M-22312

That the Parliament congratulate 10-year-old Aidan Dodds who recently raided his piggy bank to donate £132 to Save the Children; understands that Aidan, who will soon start P7 at Dean Park Primary School, saw a Save the Children appeal on TV that highlighted the plight of disadvantaged children who do not have access to antibiotics; notes that this made him recognise how fortunate people in Scotland are to not have to worry about access to such medicines and motivated him to ask his parents to donate his savings to the charity; recognises that Aidan's actions were extremely thoughtful and helpful, and acknowledges that his parents are extremely proud of him.
