That the Parliament congratulates the three members of the NAFC Marine Centre UHI in Shetland who have been recognised in the 2020 University of the Highlands and Islands students’ association awards; understands that Caroline Hepburn, who works as a student support officer, won the Hidden Hero award, which recognises the support staff whose work often goes unrecognised but is vital to the student experience; notes that Caroline’s nomination follows 25 years of tireless work helping students of NAFC and Shetland College, which has continued throughout the pandemic; recognises that nautical lecturer, Cleaton Duguid, who joined the staff in 2018, was highly commended in the categories of Most Engaging VC Tutor and Above & Beyond – Staff; further recognises William Pearson who was highly commended in the Most Inspiring Student – The Student’s Choice category; believes that the spread of nominations demonstrates the high-quality work and education that the NAFC provides; thanks all those involved for their contribution, and wishes Caroline, Cleaton and William the very best with all their future work.
