Reopen Blair Drummond Safari Park

  • Submitted by: Dean Lockhart, Mid Scotland and Fife, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 17 June 2020
  • Motion reference: S5M-22061

That the Parliament supports the reopening of Blair Drummond Safari Park as soon as possible; believes that, by keeping the attraction closed for any longer than is strictly necessary, the Scottish Government is jeopardising the future viability of the park, which attracts over 400,000 visitors per annum; understands that the park's management has put in place appropriate social distancing measures, which will mean that the health and safety of staff and visitors can be protected at all times, and calls on the Scottish Government to work with the tourism sector to implement a flexible approach to re-opening attractions such as the Safari Park.
